Former President of Scripps Networks buys stake in Minneapolis content marketing firm
John Lansing to serve as Partner and Board Member
MINNEAPOLIS, MN–(November 1, 2017)—Today i.e. network (IEN) announces that John F. Lansing, former President of Scripps Networks is investing in i.e. network, the Minnesota-based news and brand content company founded in 2009 by long-time Twin Cities news anchor and entrepreneur, Rick Kupchella.
IEN develops thought leadership through truthful storytelling, designed to influence key audiences. It deploys a combination of journalistic storytellers with digital marketing strategists to produce and distribute news and branded content for strategic B2B and B2C audiences. The company works with its clients in all facets of analysis, design, prototyping and execution of these strategic content marketing initiatives.
Originally from the Twin Cities, Lansing has held leadership positions in news with CBS, Scripps and Gannett. He was President of Scripps Networks building such brands as the Food Network, HGTV and the Travel Channel. Lansing also served as CEO of the largest marketing organization in North America for the cable television industry. In his early career, he served in leadership positions locally in Minneapolis at both KARE and WCCO television.
Lansing says he was drawn to the work IEN is doing to advance news as content marketing, along with the strong capabilities in storytelling and digital marketing strategy.
